National Fishing & Boating Week – FREE Fishing Days by State!

National Fishing and Boating Week will take place this year from June 3rd to June 11th.  It is a national celebration of recreational boating and fishing.  Most states offer free fishing days.  These are the days where anglers are allowed to fish on public bodies of water without a fishing license.  Here are the upcoming 2017 free fishing days by state:

  • Alabama  – 6/10/17
  • Arkansas – 6/09/17 to 6/11/17
  • Arizona – 6/03/17
  • California – 7/01/17 and 9/02/17
  • Colorado – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17 (First full weekend in June each year)
  • Connecticut – (Already passed.  It was 5/13/17)
  • District of Columbia – 6/02/17 to 6/04/17
  • Deleware – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17
  • Florida – Freshwater & Saltwater = 1st Sat & Sun in June; Saltwater = 1st Sat & Sun in September and Sat after Thanksgiving
  • Georgia – 6/03617, 6/10/17 and 9/23/17
  • Hawaii – 365 days a year (marine)
  • Idaho – 6/10/17 (2nd Saturday every June)
  • Illinois – 6/16/17 to 6/19/17 Father’s Day Weekend in June
  • Indiana – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17
  • Kansas – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17 (First full weekend in June)
  • Kentucky – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17 (First full weekend in June)
  • Louisiana – 6/10/17 and 6/11/17
  • Mane – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17
  • Maryland – 6/03/17, 6/10/17, 7/04/17
  • Massachussetts – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17
  • Michigan – 6/10/17 to 6/11/17
  • Minnesota – 5/13/17 to 5/14/17, 6/09/17 to 6/11/17 and 1/13/18 to 1/15/18
  • Missouri – (Already passed.  It was 5/06/17)
  • Mississippi – 6/03/17 to 6/04/17 and 7/04/17
  • Montana – 6/17/17 to 6/18/17
  • North Carolina – 7/14/17
  • North Dakota – 6/3/17 to 6/4/17 & 12/30/17 to 12/31/17
  • Nebraska – (Already passed.  It was 5/20/17 Saturday before Memorial Day Weekend)
  • New Hampshire – 6/17/17 (The first Saturday in June) and 1/20/18 (The third Saturday in January)
  • New Jersey – 6/10/17 & 10/21/17
  • New Mexico – 6/4/17 & 9/24/17
  • New York – 6/24/17 to 6/25/17 & 11/11/17
  • Nevada – 6/10/17
  • Ohio –  (Already passed. It was 5/6/17 to 5/7/17)
  • Oklahoma – 6/3/17 to 6/4/17
  • Oregon – 6/3/17 to 6/4/17
  • Pennsylvania – 7/04/17
  • Rhode Island – (Already Passed.  It was 5/06/17 to 5/07/17)
  • South Carolina – 5/29/17 Memorial Day and 7/4/17 Independence Day
  • South Dakota – (Already Passed.  It was 5/28/17 to 5/30/17)

  • Vermont – (Already Passed.  It was 01/28/17 – Free ice fishing day)
